How to make Köttbullar - Swedish meatballs?

Ingredients

Make sure to use the correct amounts when preparing the food.

Servings (default: 4)

  • 6 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 300 ml of cream
  • 800 g potatoes
  • 1 small onion
  • 500 g minced beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch (s) of pepper
  • 0.5 tsp mustard
  • 50 ml sparkling water
  • 2 tbsp clarified butter
  • 100 ml vegetable stock
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 stalk (s) of parsley
  • 4 tbsp cranberries


Preparation

Step 1

Ingredients:

6 tbsp breadcrumbs - 150 ml of cream - 800 g potatoes - salt

Put the breadcrumbs and 150 ml cream in a small bowl and let soak for 15 minutes. Peel the potatoes, cut in half or quarter if necessary, and cook in salted water for 20 minutes.

Step 2

Ingredients:

1 small onion - 500 g minced beef - 1 egg - 1 teaspoon salt - 1 pinch (s) of pepper - 0.5 tsp mustard - 50 ml sparkling water

In the meantime, peel the onion and finely chop or puree. Mix the minced meat, breadcrumbs mixture and onion together well in a large bowl. Add an egg and season with salt, pepper and mustard. Add a dash of sparkling water. Rinse your hands with cold water and shape the meat into small balls..

Step 3

Ingredients:

2 tbsp clarified butter - 150 ml of cream - 100 ml vegetable stock - 1 teaspoon cornstarch - pepper - salt

Drain the potatoes. Heat clarified butter in a pan and fry the meatballs over medium heat. Lift the meatballs out of the pan. Put the rest of the cream and vegetable stock in the pan and bring to a boil briefly. Mix the cornstarch with 3-4 tablespoons of water in a cup and add to the sauce. Stir everything well and season with salt and pepper.

Step 4

Ingredients:

2 stalk (s) of parsley - 4 tbsp cranberries

Wash the parsley, shake dry and chop finely. Arrange meatballs with potatoes, sauce, and cranberries, garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
